Designing William Ferrer’s Website: A Story That Cuts Deep
When I first sat down with William, I didn’t just see a young barber with talent, I saw someone with a story that deserved to be told. At only 23 years old, William has been cutting hair for over six years, starting back in high school when he became the go-to barber for classmates and friends. From his parents’ garage to a chair at Hustler’s Barbershop in Pinole, California, his journey is all about passion, culture, and hustle.
Before I started designing, I wanted to understand who William really is, not just what he does. We talked about his roots in the East Bay, his time at UC Davis, and his mix of Colombian and Cambodian heritage. Every part of his story helped shape the look and feel of the site. I wanted his website to reflect that same energy: clean, minimalistic, modern, confident, and authentic.
The goal was to build more than just a website. It needed to feel personal, something that matched his personality and showed what makes him different. From the color palette to the layout, everything was designed to mirror his precision and style as a barber.
I also handled the photography and video featured on his site. Every photo and banner clip was shot to capture real moments, the way he connects with clients, the focus in his craft, and the atmosphere of Hustler’s Barbershop. No staged poses or stock photos, just William doing what he does best.
The finished website is a reflection of who William is today and where he’s headed. It’s simple, sharp, and honest, just like the cuts he gives.
