This website is fire! Donald P. Long’s website has to be the nicest one that I’ve designed to date. I’ve created some impressive stuff, but nothing quite like this – yet! The DIYM website is up there, but the darkness and mystique behind Donald’s site take it to another level. During the design and build stages, we didn’t go too wild, but we pushed the boundaries a bit. We considered doing some additional things to take it a step further, but we decided to end it where it is.
We had the privilege of putting together a new site for Donald P. Long, a celebrity barber and one of the best in the barber industry. After a few conversations, once Donald provided me with the colors he wanted, I immediately knew what we were going to produce. It’s weird, but sometimes I start my design thinking based on a brand’s color and story because from there, I can paint the rest of the picture, and this was the case with Donald’s site.
For this build, I reached out to my good friend Damien at Damien Dante Studios to shoot the pictures present on Donald’s site. I wanted split lighting shots of Donald to further bring out the mystique to align with his brand. Damien went in did his thing as usual and produced some amazing shots.
A lot of credit goes out to my right-hand man when it comes to building digital products, Rajat Wadehra. My designs would be nothing without his skill in crafting beautiful digital products.
I’m very happy with the result of Donald’s site. To compliment his new website, I designed Donald a new logo to reflect him and his brand which you can see in the logo section on the homepage of my site, and also above. I know for certain that this website is going to raise the bar for Donald and continue elevating him as the elite in the barber industry and he deserves every bit of it. I was proud to be able to produce this website for Donald, alongside Rajat.
